About the event

Discover the history of the former AME Zion Church and the nearby cemetery. Join us for our tour, which takes place regardless of the weather. Some walking is necessary. Our tours are free, but donations are always welcome.

Mt. Tabor and the adjacent cemetery are included in the Cumberland County Register of Historic Places, as well as the National Register of Historic Places. In 2025, they were awarded a PA State Historic Marker, which is scheduled to be installed in 2026 or 2027.
