About The Event
History of Mt. Tabor AME Zion Church and nearby Cemetery built c. 1870. Oldest AME Zion log constructed church in Cumberland County. The cemetery is the final resting place for seven (7) Civil War veterans. Hear the history of the former church, cemetery and families who have lived in this area since the 1800's. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2021. Also listed on the Cumberland County Register of Historic Places and the Preservation PA at Risk List.
